PHOROPTOR:
Not much you can do except keep covered during non-use periods and have serviced by a Qualified Technician every 12-24 Months.
SLIT LAMP: No light

1. Change bulb, even new bulbs can be bad. Even though bulb looks ok on visual test it can be bad in the base.

2. Make sure power cord has not become dislodged at power source or at back of transformer.

3. Make sure you have power at point power cord is plugged into. You can easily check this by plugging another instrument or a lamp into socket and if it does not work you have a problem. Within the instrument stand arm if that is where it is plugged into or if using wall outlet, the problem is within building wiring.

SLIT LAMP: Shadow or dull light

1. Make sure bulb is laying flat in its slot.

2. Replace bulb.

3. Call for service, needs cleaned and serviced. Instrument drifts or hard to move: Needs serviced.

PROJECTOR: No light

2. Make sure you have power at plug-in by using a lamp or another instrument that works.

3. Call for service.

HAND INSTRUMENTS:
There are three things that will cause problem with rechargeable hand instruments: bulbs, batteries, or charging well. If replacing the bulb or battery does not help problem, you most likely have a problem charging well.
CHAIR AND STAND: No power

1. Make sure power cord is making good connection.

2. Check fuses. Normally located near the point power cord enters back of chair or stand.

3. Unplug chair or stand from power source, let stand for 10 minutes, plug back in.

4. Call for service.

AUTOMATED PRETEST EQUIPMENT:
Many issues with pretest equipment are caused by the objective lens (lens that patient looks into) having a smudge on it or being dirty. Otherwise, call for service.
